A good rug deserves more than a pass with the vacuum. Area rug cleaning in Palm Springs is a dedicated service that sits alongside our carpet cleaning, and it starts with a simple idea: identify what the rug actually is before touching it with water.
A hand-knotted wool rug, a viscose blend, a cotton dhurrie, and a synthetic area rug each call for a different approach to moisture, agitation, and cleaning solution. Treating them all the same is how colors bleed and fibers mat. We match the method to the material every time.
We inspect the rug on site first, point out any weave or fiber trait that shapes the approach, and explain the results you can realistically expect, so there are no surprises later. At our facility, we document the rug’s condition and lift out loose soil with gentle micro-agitation before any wash begins. Pulling grit from the foundation first protects both the fibers and the colors.
Because no fixed dye standard exists for hand-knotted rugs, a colorfastness check follows. If a test hints at bleeding, we stop and reach out before continuing. The wash then uses agents formulated for wool and natural fibers, and we dry the rug under controlled conditions to reduce the risk of shrinkage or browning.
We are independently owned and operated, IICRC certified, California licensed, and fully bonded and insured. That combination matters most when a rug carries real value. If you need more than rug care, tile and grout cleaning and upholstery cleaning are available together. Pickup and delivery mean you never have to move a bulky rug on your own.
Every twelve to eighteen months suits most homes, and more often with pets, allergies, or steady traffic. Rentals with frequent turnover often benefit from a shorter schedule.
Not when it is done correctly. Our dye testing and controlled drying work to reduce fading, bleeding, and shrinkage, and we flag any rug that carries a risk we cannot control before we begin.
Yes, pickup and delivery are available across Palm Springs and the nearby desert cities, so you never have to move a heavy rug yourself.
